FOR SPANISH VOLUNTEERS: EVS in a secondary school at Pau – SW France
The secondary school Pierre Emmanuel is an innovative public secondary school hosting students from 11 to 15. It is a boarding school where French and Spanish students are hosted (240 in total with 120 boarders). Youngsters from 16 to 18 are also hosted to support the students. The work is organized around motivating projects inside the school and are based on cross-disciplinary activities. The volunteers will be directly in contact with the students in order to implement educational activities (during the school time or extracurricular) and/or activities about citizenship. It will be for example participate in school excursion, supporting students who want to lead their own project… They will also have the possibility to support the students by doing extra-tutoring but also by organizing cultural activities (theatre, music, digital activities, video projects…). The school hosts 2 European volunteers, one from the UK is already selected, the other volunteer should come from Spain.
accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will be hosted in flats in Pau. A monthly bus card will be provided. They will take lunch inside the school from Monday to Friday and will receive money for the other meals of the weeks (breakfast, dinners and all the meals during the week-ends and school holidays).
ONE VACANCY, ONLY FOR A SPANISH VOLUNTEER: The applicants will have to be open-minded, motivated and interested in the topics of the project, such as: – Youth and non-formal education – Languages and communication – Team-working and working with people from different backgrounds – Adaptation and flexibility in order to participate in specific projects. Notions of French will be an asset.
